Passenger transport is changing in Leicestershire and, at the same time as the county council is facing significant financial challenges, we are also trying to offer a better service to residents. The county council has developed a new Passenger Transport Policy and Strategy (PTPS) to ensure its passenger transport provision is fit for purpose and cost-effective.
We are reviewing all contracted services across the county. The review of service 27 – Loughborough to Thurmaston – is now complete and the intended course of action is to amend the timetable and reduce the route to operate from Loughborough to Sileby only.
We would now like to invite users of service 27 to attend a community engagement meeting, to inform them about the proposed new bus route and timetable and talk about potential local transport solutions which communities might develop to complement, improve or replace the county council’s offer.
Meetings will take place in Thurmaston on 9th July, Syston on 10th July, Mountsorrel on 11th July and Sileby on 12th July. For more details about these meetings, please see attached notices. Service-27-Engagement-Notice.pdf (35 downloads)Service 27 Engagement Event Notice - Sileby
