The At Risk War Memorials Project was formed in 2012 spurred on by the destruction or theft of about 15 war memorials in the closed church of St Saviour’s.

Our first objective is always to place a memorial at risk safely back in to its original community if that is practical. In most cases it is not, so since that time we have taken into care some 40 war memorials from the City and County ranging from a huge WW2 stained glass window down to a paper WW1 Roll of Honour rescued from a skip!
