Saturday 31 August, 14:00 - 15:30

Park and Local History Walks: Where’s the Castle in Castle Hill Country Park?

Saturday 31 August, 2pm.

Up to 90 minutes, steady pace.

Meet at Beaumont Lodge shops/carpark on Astill Lodge Road.

Visit this country park on the edge of Leicester and learn about its medieval history. Enjoy a group walk on this semi-rural site, then hear from a local archaeologist who will explain findings of recent digs. Please note: paths here are soft and terrain is uneven – please wear appropriate footwear. If you are looking for an accessible walk, please contact us in advance to check if the walk is suitable. Please arrive 10 minutes early for registration to allow the walk to start on time. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

This walk is free. If you would like to attend, please follow the steps below:

  1. Booking is essential for this walk – places are limited. Visit Eventbrite now to book your place or call 0116 373 7589.
  2. Additionally, if you have not walked with us before, please register online here before your first walk. Thank you. (If you have walked with us before you do not need to do step 2, as you have already completed this).

If you are unsure of the start location, please contact our office (Monday to Friday, during office hours) and we will be happy to assist.
