A Walk on the Wild Side walk in Ellis Meadows is hosted by an experienced wildlife expert who will lead you around the meadows and talk about the different types of insects, plants and other wildlife found here.
The walk will begin at 10am from the riverside path at the end of Corporation Road, near Abbey Pumping Station. Our fantastic wildlife expert will lead you on a 1-1.5 hour exploration of one of Leicester’s green spaces to discover more about nature in the city. This short walk is free to attend, but numbers are limited so please register to book a ticket to secure your place. If you are unsure of the start location, please contact our office (Monday to Friday, during office hours) and we will be happy to assist.
When attending our walks, please dress appropriately for the weather conditions (rain coat/ warm clothes / sun hat – as applicable!) and wear comfortable sturdy shoes with flat soles (trainers are fine).
Please note: As we are looking at wildlife, we regret that dogs are not permitted on these walks.
This event is a collaboration between Making Wildlife Count and Choose How You Move. The Making Wildlife Count project is about engaging local communities in the green space in which they live. The Choose How You Move project encourages people to get out on foot to discover Leicester and become familiar with its many walking routes. The project provides group walks in the city, which are open to all. Walks are assisted by our friendly volunteers.
