 pril 11am\nStart location to be confirmed on booking\nAround 90 minutes\, 
 steady pace\nJoin us for a walk passing some of Leicester’s former facto
 ries to the west of the city centre. From boot and shoe manufacturers to h
 osiery and confectionery\, get a flavour of the different industries which
  provided employment and brought wealth to Leicester in the 19th and 20th 
 centuries. (A repeat of the walk presented in previous years).\nOur groups
  are smaller than before so booking is essential for all participants (i
 ncluding children under 16\, who must be accompanied by an adult) – plea
 se see ‘how to book’ below. Please do not turn up at walks if you have
  not booked – we regret you will be turned away. \nDress for the weathe
 r\nPlease remember to dress appropriately for the weather to ensure you ar
 e comfortable. Walkers are recommended to bring a bottle of water with the
 m.\nGroup size\nGroup walks will be smaller than before to stay within th
 e ‘rule of 6’ which allows a maximum of 6 people from different house
 holds to meet outdoors in a public space. This includes our volunteers who
  lead and assist the walk. To allow opportunities to others\, a maximum of
  2 people from the same household/ support bubble may attend. We are sorry
  that we cannot accommodate more people at this time. Please follow instru
 ctions for booking places and also observe the guidance below with regards
  to Covid-19. \nCovid-19 and group walks\n\n	Please do not attend a walk 
 if you or someone in your household/support bubble has symptoms of Covid-1
 9. Instead\, please stay home\, self-isolate and book a test. Information 
 about how to order a test online or by phone is detailed on the on the Le
 icester City Council website.  Please do not attend a walk if you are awa
 iting the results of a Covid-19 test. The NHS website provides informatio
 n about symptoms and more.\n	During walks\, we kindly ask walkers to main
 tain the 2m social distancing from each other and members of the public (o
 r at least 1m if you are wearing a face mask). Please respect other people
 's space.\n	Take hygiene precautions when you are outside (you may wish to
  carry your own hand sanitizer) and wash your hands as soon as you are bac
 k indoors.\n\nSelf-guided routes\nIf you have been unable to book onto one
  of our group walks\, or you prefer to explore with your family or friends
 \, self-guided routes are available to download from our routes page or
