Bus fares, tickets and passes
Leicester and Leicestershire ticketing schemes, bus passes and bus stations.
The National Bus Fare Cap scheme first introduced in 2023 is funded by HM Government to make bus travel for passengers in England more affordable. The cap applies to fares for single (one-way) journeys of any distance on bus services provided by operators who are taking part in the scheme. The scheme currently runs until March 2027.
Participating bus operators in the East Midlands region are Arriva, Central Connect, Centrebus, First Bus Leicester, Kinchbus, Nottingham City Transport, Stagecoach Midlands and Trentbarton. A list of the services by operator included in the scheme can be viewed here.
