Bikeability

Bikeability is Cycling Proficiency for the 21st century. The ability to cycle safely is a life-long skill, and high quality cycle education enables confident and enjoyable cycling. Our training raises awareness of skilful cycling among all road users, encourages active travel, and benefits children’s health and well-being.

Many Leicester & Leicestershire primary schools can access free cycle training through the national Bikeability programme, funded by the Department for Transport. There are three Bikeability levels, designed to help trainees improve their cycling skills.

Levels 1, 2 and 3 teach trainees the basics of balance and control, all the way through to planning and making a journey using busier roads. Our sessions are fully inclusive, free to school pupils, and we can provide all necessary equipment.

All sessions are led by qualified cycle instructors. Find out more about Leicestershire County Bikeability and Leicester City Bikeability
