Rail services and stations

Regular services between London St. Pancras, the East Midlands and Yorkshire, serving Market Harborough, Leicester and Loughborough are operated by East Midlands Railway.

They also run local stopping services between Leicester and Lincoln, via Syston, Sileby, Barrow-upon-Soar and Loughborough, as well as between Nottingham and Skegness, calling at Bottesford.

Cross Country Trains run services between Birmingham New Street and Leicester, via Hinckley, Narborough and South Wigston, and between Birmingham New Street and Stansted Airport, via Leicester and Melton Mowbray.

Save money with a PLUSBUS ticket

PLUSBUS is a cheap bus pass that you buy online with your train ticket or at any station ticket office, giving you unlimited bus and tram travel (on participating operators’ services) to and from the rail station and around the whole urban area of the rail-served town.

Parking at railway stations in Leicester & Leicestershire

East Midlands Railway manages pay & display car parks at Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Syston. Find out prices for daily, weekly, monthly and annual car parking tickets, as well as off-peak, evenings and weekends.

For parking at Narborough Station, see Blaby District Council. Limited free parking is available at Bottesford and Sileby stations. There are no car parks at Barrow-upon-Soar and South Wigston stations

 

East Midlands Railway – Cycle Hub Scheme

Ask for an application form at the ticket office and for a one-off fee of £10, you will receive a key fob, giving you unlimited access to modern, secure facilities, not only at Leicester and Loughborough stations, but all East Midlands Railway cycle hubs.

Leicester Station – in the station basement, accessible via the lift to the left of the customer information desk. Features over 200 CCTV-monitored bike parking spaces plus changing rooms. Open at all times during station opening hours.

Loughborough Station – accessible 24/7 adjacent to station building. Features 130 CCTV-monitored bike parking spaces over two tiers, plus a tool station and pump. (Second tool station and pump available outside the cycle hub, next to the ticket barriers).
