Adult Cycle Training
Would you like to learn to ride a bike, or refresh your cycling skills? We offer cycle training courses for beginners, or for those who have not cycled in a while and would like to get back on two wheels.
Courses are open to anyone over the age of 18, regardless of skill level. Get confident, stay in shape, save money and help the environment!
Courses in Leicester City
If you live in Leicester City and are within our Access Fund Boundary (see map), you could join one of our cycle training courses.
Choose from our Level 1 (beginner) and Level 2 (intermediate) courses, led by our friendly and qualified Cycling Instructors. Our 5-week courses cost just £10 and take place at Cossington Street Recreation Ground in Leicester.
We are able to offer a bike and helmet free of charge but encourage you to bring your own if possible.
We have currently suspended our cycle training courses in response to the coronavirus situation. In the meantime, email us to register your interest, and we will notify you when courses are available.
Courses in Leicestershire County
Alternatively, if you can’t commit to a 5 week course, Leicestershire County Council run intensive courses, you can choose from our full day programme or two half day sessions. These can be held in the morning or afternoon, whichever is best for you.
Courses are led by our friendly, qualified Cycling Instructors who will offer support and expertise to help you develop the skills necessary to learn to ride or build on your current skills, training will be tailored to suit your needs. Training takes place at County Hall, Glenfield, at a cost of £50 per person. We encourage you to bring your own bike and helmet where possible. If you don’t have either, we have a limited number available to borrow at no extra charge.

Cycle Maintenance Courses
Cycle maintenance courses are run by Future Cycles Training and range from one-off sessions to courses giving professionally-recognised bike mechanic qualifications. This training facility is based at Pilot House, accessed from Duke Street, Leicester LE1 6RN. Find more information, visit the website or call Future Cycles Training on 07793206265.
