CANCELLED Walk – Glenfield Tunnel, over the top

2:00pm - 4:00pm

Footpath linking A50 Groby Road with Jowett's Close

We regret this walk has been cancelled.

Following recent UK Government advice to avoid non-essential gatherings, we have taken the decision to cancel our planned group walks for March and April. We know this is disappointing but the health of volunteers, walkers and the wider public is of prime importance. We all want to do our bit in the effort to reduce the risks of person-to-person virus transmission.

The Government’s new rules for ‘staying at home and away from others’ were issued on Monday 23 March. At this time we are only permitted to exercise outside once a day (alone, or with other members of your household).  Walking is important for both our mental and physical health, and is especially good in green space. For those who can (ie. those who are not currently self-isolating), stepping outside for a breath of air can feel a welcome escape. Even a short stroll in your local neighbourhood can feel beneficial – just remember to keep a 2m distance from others.

*Do remember the government guidance on staying at home and keeping away from others. See the Gov.uk website here.*

We will keep informed of the latest Government information and will update our walk programme accordingly. Keep an eye on our website and/or sign up here for our free monthly Walk Leicester e-newsletter to keep up with the latest news.
