This walk of 1.8 miles (45 – 55 minutes) heads from Evington Park to Shady Lane Arboretum on the south-east side of Leicester. Evington is served by buses. There is a car park and toilets at Evington Park. You’ll do a figure of eight through the arboretum, passing the medieval church of St Denys on the way. The arboretum has wildflower grassland, over 500 species of tree and is a good spot to unwind with nature. Discover some local history too, as you pass information boards en route.
Note: This walk includes some soft, uneven and narrow paths (which can be muddy after rain) and some steps. It is not an accessible route.
