Pride-themed Walk: LGBTQ Leicester Through Time 
Wednesday 2 September at 11am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting from Town Hall Square. Finishing near Humberstone Gate / Charles Street junction.
Around 90 minutes with information stops, steady pace.  1.5 miles.
Taking place during Pride week, this short walk through the city centre talks briefly about the history of Pride in Leicester and takes in a number of places associated with the LGBT+ community over the last 50 years, providing historical insights and reminiscences. Our walks are inclusive and this walk is open to all.

Wildlife Walk: A Walk on the Wild Side – Aylestone Meadows South & Great Central Way

Wednesday 9 September at 10am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)

Starting from Marsden Lane car park. 
Around 2 hours with information stops, steady pace. 
A Walk on the Wild Side is hosted by an experienced wildlife expert who will lead you around the meadows, pausing to talk about the different types of insects, plants, birds and other wildlife found here. This steady-paced walk is a great way to relax while discovering a little about nature in the city.

Group Walk: Exploring Old Belgrave

Saturday 12 September at 11am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)

Starting from Loughborough Road/Bath Street junction green space, opposite The Bull. Bus stop nearby.

Join us for a pleasant history walk from old Belgrave village to Belgrave Cemetery and back, discovering stories of places and people along the way! This is one of our longer walks. Around 2.5 miles.

Allow around 2+ hours including information stops for the circular route. Shorter option of 1.8-mile (one-way) if you wish to leave after Belgrave Cemetery. Bus stops nearby at Red Hill Circle for return to city centre (Skylink, Arriva bus no. 127, Centrebus no.22a,b,c). Visit the Journey Planner to help plan your journey.
Please note: This is a residential area with limited parking – bus journeys are recommended. There are no public toilets on this route.

Braunstone Park Walk & Stable Block Museum Visit

Thursday 17 September at 11am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)

Starting from the gates of Winstanley House, centre of Braunstone Park.

90 minutes approximately, steady pace. 1.5 miles

A group walk around beautiful Braunstone Park and visit the stable block museum to discover the Winstanley family who once owned the hall.

Open Streets – On the Trail of Joseph Merrick in Victorian Leicester

Sunday 27 September at 12:45pm (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)

Starting from Town Hall Square. 

Around 90 minutes with information stops, steady pace. Around 1.5 miles.

Volunteer Roles Explained

Walk Assistant:  This is our regular Walk Assistant role, where you provide admin support at registration, as well as back-marking / middle-marking the walk. Liaise with WL to agree who will return paperwork to Locker 16. We would also welcome photos of the group during the walk (from the back – so walkers are not identifiable!) and of our presenters. 

Walk Leader: Our regular Walk Leader role. You will recce and risk assess the route as usual, and lead and present the walk, supported by our Walk Assistants. Liaise with WA to agree who will return paperwork to Locker 16.
