Group Walk: Exploring South Highfields
Tuesday 2 June at 2pm
(volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting from the gates of Prebend Gardens, Prebend Street (a short walk from Leicester Railway Station)
Explore the streets of the South Highfields Conservation Area, focusing on stories of some of the noteworthy people associated with it. 
Around 1.4 miles, steady pace.
Around 90 minutes, with information stops.

Walk on the Wild Side – Victoria Park and Welford Road Cemetery

Wednesday 10 June at 10am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting from the Arch of Remembrance, Victoria Park
Between 90 minutes – 2 hours, steady pace.

Join a wildlife guide for a tour of Leicester’s green spaces, pausing for information about the plants and animals found here.

Westcotes Walk (new)
Saturday 13 June at 11am
(volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting from the red community noticeboard on Braunstone Gate, opposite the Bede Street mural. What3Words location: ///senior.items.cloak
Around 90 minutes, steady pace.
A new heritage and local interest walk exploring the Westcotes area, with short information stops along the way to discover some of the places of interest.

Tree Tour in Western Park

Saturday 20 June at 11am (volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting from Western Park main gates (near old tram shelter), Hinckley Road.
A guided walk through the park looking at selected trees, presented by the Volunteer Tree Wardens.

Around 90 minutes with information stops.

Corporation Road Walk (new)
Wednesday 24 June at 11am
(volunteers, please arrive 15mins early)
Starting on Corporation Road, near Abbey Pumping Station
Around 90 minutes, steady pace.
A heritage walk in the streets off Corporation Road.

Volunteer Roles Explained

Walk Assistant:  This is our regular Walk Assistant role, where you provide admin support at registration, as well as back-marking / middle-marking the walk. Liaise with WL to agree who will return paperwork to Locker 16. We would also welcome photos of the group during the walk (from the back – so walkers are not identifiable!) and of our presenters. 

Walk Leader: Our regular Walk Leader role. You will recce and risk assess the route as usual, and lead and present the walk, supported by our Walk Assistants. Liaise with WA to agree who will return paperwork to Locker 16.
