Group Walks: Belgrave Hall to Watermead Country Park
Tuesday 25 May at 11am
Location to be confirmed on booking
Around 90 minutes, medium pace
Join us for a scenic walk from Belgrave Hall, heading north to Watermead Country Park. We pass the Mammoth Lake before returning to the start. At around 2.7 miles this is one of our longer walks led at a medium pace.
Please be aware there are no toilet facilities at the start location.
Groups are smaller than before so booking is essential for all participants (including children under 16, who must be accompanied by an adult) – please see ‘how to book’ below. Please do not turn up at walks if you have not booked – we regret you will be turned away.
Dress for the weather
Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather to ensure you are comfortable. Walkers are recommended to bring a bottle of water with them.
For walks in the city centre it is helpful if walkers wear a face mask. This allows the group to gather safely at road crossings where there is less space.
Group walks will remain smaller than before, to enable our walkers to maintain social distancing. After 17 May we will open up some additional places on our walks. Group size will depend on the walk location and the amount of space available for social distancing (at the start and during the walk). To allow opportunities to others, a maximum of 2 people from the same household/ support bubble may attend. We are sorry that we cannot accommodate more people at this time. Please follow instructions for booking places and also observe the guidance below with regards to Covid-19.
Covid-19 and group walks
- Please do not attend a walk if you or someone in your household/support bubble has symptoms of Covid-19. Instead, please stay home, self-isolate and book a test. Information about how to order a test online or by phone is detailed on the on the Leicester City Council website. Please do not attend a walk if you are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test. The NHS website provides information about symptoms and more.
- During walks, we kindly ask walkers to maintain the 2m social distancing from each other and members of the public (or at least 1m if you are wearing a face mask). Please respect other people’s space.
- Take hygiene precautions when you are outside (you may wish to carry your own hand sanitizer) and wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors.
If you have been unable to book onto one of our group walks, or you prefer to explore with your family or friends, self-guided routes are available to download from our routes page or via the Go Jauntly smartphone app. Enjoy exploring Leicester this spring.

How to book
Booking is essential.
Click ‘Book your space’ below to go to our Eventbrite page and register for this walk, or phone 0116 373 7589 when booking has opened.
We will confirm the start location for the walk on booking and look forward to you joining us!
Once you have booked a place, if you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete a Walker Registration form before you attend the walk. You will only need to complete the registration form once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place). Once you have booked via Eventbrite, we later email you a link to complete the registration form online. Alternatively, you can speak to our staff to complete it over the phone in advance of the walk.
If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place via Eventbrite or contact us by phone (during office hours) to cancel your place so we can allow others the opportunity to attend. This is especially important while our group sizes are small. Thank you in advance.
