Exploring South Highfields
Saturday 7 March at 11am
Starting from the gates of Prebend Gardens, Prebend Street (off London Road).
Around 90 minutes for walk and talk. Steady pace. 1.4 miles.
We explore the streets of the South Highfields Conservation Area, focusing on stories of some of the noteworthy people associated with it.

A short walk along Belgrave Gate in Leicester
Monday 9 March at 2pm
Starting outside Haymarket Bus Station, Belgrave Gate entrance.
Around 75-90 minutes for walk and talk. Steady pace. 1.3 miles.
A short walk along Belgrave Gate, discovering former public buildings of the 19th and 20th century – some repurposed and others long gone.

Walk to the Celebration of Heritage Event at University of Leicester

Starting from Town Hall Square, off Horsefair Street (close to the Bike Park)
Around 90 minutes for walk and talk. Steady pace.
Allow extra time to explore the heritage event.
A from the city centre to the University of Leicester for their fantastic Celebration of Heritage event! Our route will vary slightly from previous years, pausing for a little information along the way. We finish on the University of Leicester campus, where cafes are available and you can explore the heritage event at your leisure to discover the amazing arts, culture and heritage opportunities on campus and across the region.

Victoria Park, Queen’s Road and Welford Road Cemetery
Saturday 28 March at 2pm
Around 90 minutes for walk and brief information stops. Steady pace.
Starting at the main gates of Victoria Park, near Granville Road.
A stroll through Victoria Park, the pleasant residential streets of Clarendon Park and returning via peaceful Welford Road Cemetery. We pass the former home of the founder of the Fox’s confectionery company in Clarendon Park, and include a few of the interesting memorials in the cemetery.

A Heritage Walk to Welford Road
Monday 30 March at 2pm
Around 75 minutes. Steady pace. 1.2 miles.
Join us for walk from the city centre to Welford Road, discovering locations of heritage interest along the way. We include some of Leicester’s fashionable 19th century buildings as well as homes for workers, the hospital and prison, providing light information as we go.
