Our Walks this month…

Special Interest Walk – Exploring the Corporation Road Area
Saturday 4 July at 11am
Starting from Corporation Road at the junction with Wallingford Road, near Abbey Pumping Station.

What3Words location: ///scale.novel.divide
Around 75 minutes with information stops. Steady pace. 1.2 miles

Join us for a new walk discovering locations and stories of heritage interest in the area around Corporation Road. We include Abbey Pumping Station, the Space Park, a local brewery and pub, a mid-19th-20th century funeral director, and the ‘homes for heroes’ designed by Arthur Wakerley in the 1920s. This walk is presented by one of our Walk Volunteers.
Please note: This walk includes information about the funeral practices of the 19th-20th century which (while fascinating) may be a sensitive topic for some.

What3Words location: ///winner.gloves.wipes
Between 90 minutes – 2 hours with information stops. Steady pace. 1.2 miles

A Walk on the Wild Side is hosted by an experienced wildlife expert who will lead you around the park, pausing to talk about the different types of insects, plants, birds and other wildlife found here.
Please note: This route includes some soft and uneven paths in the park so may not be fully accessible.  As we are looking at wildlife, we regret that dogs are not permitted on our nature-themed walks.

Free to attend but booking is required.
