BSIP – Bus Service Improvement Plan

Leicestershire County Council is required to state how it will specifically achieve the Enhanced Partnership objectives through a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). The Leicestershire Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) 2025 (PDF, 6 MB) reflects progress made to date on these objectives as well as setting out the next steps to help us continue, with the help of Government funding, to:

  • Support the current commercial and subsidised networks to meet school, commuting and other travel needs;
  • Maintain and improve local area networks and our FoxConnect digital and demand-responsive services which now operate county-wide;
  • Identify infrastructure pinpoints and improvements to reduce delays to buses;
  • Simplify and widen the fares offer for bus users; and
  • Encourage the take-up by operators of zero emission buses.

The BSIP delivery plan for 2025-2026 can be found on Leicestershire County Councils BSIP page.
