Melton Network Review

Local area bus services that are funded by the Council have been reviewed to create more travel opportunities for Leicestershire residents and to support the wider network provided by bus operators.

Changes came into effect from Monday 6th January 2025. Check the bus services in your area on our Routes and Maps page.

Your improved bus network

The improvements set out in Melton’s Network Review aim to maximise public transport provision across Melton and connect neighbouring communities.

  • 5 redesigned town bus services that operate seven days a week and covering all of the new developments, some industrial estates and places of interest that were not previously served.
  • Services timed to support commuters of both secondary schools in Melton town.
  • Additional villages have been added onto the Melton – Loughborough service. This maximises onward travel to Grantham, Nottingham, Leicester and Oakham.
  • 2 digital demand responsive transport (DDRT) zones. These allow more flexible bookings by using the new Melton FoxConnect service for residents in our rural settlements.
  • Support the trial enhancement of two commercial services through to Nottingham.
