World Car Free Day 2021

On Wednesday 22nd September we are celebrating World Car Free Day.

We at the county council have ambitious plans to become a carbon neutral county by 2040, but we need your help to achieve this! Leaving your car at home and walking, running, scooting, cycling, hoping, or skipping to school is a great way to get exercise, reduce your carbon emissions, improve your physical and your mental health, and get fresh air.

To encourage you to leave your car in the driveway and start your school day the healthy and green way this Car Free Day we are giving one Leicestershire resident the chance to win a Fitbit and five lucky runners up a Choose How You Move goody bag!

To be in with the chance of winning all you have to do is snap a photo of you on your way to school without your car and send it to us via our Facebook or Twitter pages, follow the Choose How You Move page and use #CHYMCarFree.

The free app gives you points every time you travel without your car, your points can be exchanged for high-street vouchers and charity donations. Download the app to start earning
