Group Walks in June

Welcome to our group walks programme for June 2025.  

Walks are free to attend but places must be booked. For full details of each walk and to book, please visit Eventbrite via the links below.  Alternatively, book by phone during office hours (excludes weekends and bank holidays). Our contact details are at the bottom of the page.

Our Walks this month…

Wednesday 11 June
Let’s Get Together Week: Social walk from St Barnabas Library to Humberstone Park, return.
Registration and refreshments from 2pm. Walk starts at 2.30pm.
Starting from: St Barnabas Library, French Road.
Pace: Steady.
Celebrating Let’s Get Together Week, this is one of several events and activities to combat social isolation and is aimed at the local community.
Duration and distance: Up to 90 minutes, with information stops. 2 miles. Due to narrow and uneven streets, this is not an accessible walk. 
No advanced booking – simply turn up from 2pm on the day to register and secure a place (numbers will be limited).

 

Thursday 12 June at 11am
Special Interest Walk: A Factory Trail through North Evington
Starting from: Outside the cafe, centre of Spinney Hill Park, off East Park Road.
Pace: Steady.
Duration and distance: Around 75 minutes, with information stops. 1.7 miles.
Please note: This walk has been adapted from our original ‘Factory Trail from Spinney Hill Park’ which has been split into two separate (shorter) walks with different themes. This is the first of the two. If you previously joined our ‘Factory Trail from Spinney Hill Park’, the content of these walks will mostly be familiar to you.

Sunday 15 June at 2pm
Special Interest Walk: Seasonal Tree Tour in Evington Park. 
Starting from: Evington Park’s car park, off The Common.
Pace: Steady
Duration and distance: Up to 90 minutes, with information stops. About 1 mile.

Wednesday 18 June at 10am
Wildlife Walk: A Walk on the Wild Side in Aylestone Meadows
Starting from: Evesham Road entrance to Aylestone Meadows. Evesham Road is off Narborough Road.
Pace: Steady.
Duration: Around 90+ minutes, with information stops.
Note: We regret we don’t allow dogs on Walk on the Wild Side (wildlife-themed) walks. Due to soft, uneven paths and field gates in the meadows, please note this is not an accessible walk.

Special Interest Walk: On the Trail of Arthur Wakerely from Spinney Hill Park. 
Starting from: outside the cafe, centre of Spinney Hill Park, off East Park Road.
Pace: Steady.
