Social Walk – Let’s Get Together Social Stroll – September Wednesday 24 September at 11am Starting from Town Hall Square, off Horsefair Street (near the Bike Park). Just over 1 mile. Steady pace. This month, our social and walk will have a family history theme. We’ll first head to a local venue for our fun social quiz. Then we’ll head out on a short city stroll discovering places connected with renowned Leicester families, uncovering a few ‘history gems’ about them along the way. We’ll finish with a free short visit to the Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Society, where a member of their team will explain a little about the services available.

New! Special Interest Walk – Gilroes Revisited Saturday 27 September at 11am Starting from main gates of Gilroes Cemetery, Groby Road Following our first walk in Gilroes Cemetery earlier this year, we return for a new themed heritage walk discovering more fascinating stories of Leicester’s former residents and a little local history. We present new content at this walk and you don’t need to have attended the first walk to enjoy this one.

Special Interest Walk – Leicester’s Former Leisure and Entertainment Venues Sunday 28 September at 12.45pm Starting in Town Hall Square, off Horsefair Street (close to the Bike Park). On this walk we’ll take a light look at former leisure and entertainment venues in the city which have since closed. Some are within living memory, whilst others date from the 19th century. Join us to reminisce or simply to discover a little about Leicester in past times. This is a repeat of the walk first presented in 2023.
